Marilyne Cleeves

Business Computer Applications Instructor

Marilyne Cleeves has been teaching computer applications courses at Cuesta since 1989; San Luis Adult School since 2003; and San Luis/Morro Bay High Schools from 1986-1989. Prior to her vocational teaching experience, she worked as a production manager and an import manager for some very large garment manufacturers in the Los Angeles area. This was a good experience but with young children she decided to move to San Luis Obispo County to pursue a different career.

While her children were growing, she used her vocational experience to obtain a vocational teaching credential. She currently holds two CA teaching credentials: Retail Merchandising and Computer Applications. During Marilyne’s early years at Cuesta, she was given the responsibility of maintaining three different computer labs designated for special programs on and off the Cuesta campus (75 computers total). This experience gave her the opportunity to work with a very accomplished network technician from Cal Poly, Jeff Nadel. Dr. Nadel and Marilyne became good friends. Jeff was instrumental in helping Marilyne get her IT support business off the ground. In 2002, she started Central Coast Support. She currently installs computers, maintains networks and creates web sites for various businesses throughout San Luis Obispo County. After her children left home she finished a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (Graduated Summa Cum Laude). In 2017, she finished her Master's Degree in Information Technology Project Management (Graduated with Distinction).

She is nationally certified by the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS); and a certified Microsoft Expert covering Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. She has taught QuickBooks accounting since 1995. She writes her own short-course textbooks and has published numerous instructional videos. Marilyne is currently teaching semester classes at Cuesta College and short courses at San Luis Obispo Adult School.
