San Luis Coastal Unified School District continues to provide the highest level of protection for our students and staff during this ongoing COVID-19 emergency. We have trusted the guidance of the Center for Disease Control, California Department of Public Health, the California Department of Education, and the San Luis Obispo County Health Department to ensure that we are providing the correct protective measures to reduce the spread of this insidious virus while continuing to provide in person educational opportunities for our students. Our district follows the scientific guidance that is provided to us from these health agencies. Mask requirements and other safety protocol are outlined in our COVID-19 Safety Plan. Health agencies continue to update and modify the protective measures as new scientific studies are completed and understood, vaccination becomes more prevalent, and the disease spread is reduced. As a district we are committed in our efforts to reduce spread by following the most current protective recommendations and guidelines.
Clarifying Mask Use in San Luis Coastal
Currently masks remain required on SLCUSD sites regardless of vaccination status. California schools must follow the direction of the CDPH under the industry guidelines in accordance with local Public Health directives. The CDC recommends schools continue to use the COVID-19 prevention strategies outlined in the current version of CDC’s Operational Strategy for Schools for at least the remainder of the 2020-2021 academic school year. We remain committed to compliance with CDPH and local Public Health safety directives.
