The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist with mixing and packaging prescriptions, maintaining client records, referring clients to the pharmacist for counseling, assisting with inventory control and purchasing, as well as collecting payment and coordinating billing.

General Education Development (GED)

GED Test Preparation & Test Dates

Adults who have not received a high school diploma are eligible to take the General Educational Development (GED) Test Series. This class is designed to assist students at their own pace in preparing for the five-part exam. Individualized instruction and counseling are provided. Improve your skills in math, reading, essay writing, and grammar.

To preregister for GED testing you must personally come to the Adult School office. Bring a picture ID (CDL or passport) and cash, credit card or cashier’s check for $130 if you are regitering for the August or September test. For October, November, December and beyond the fee will be $155. The fee for retaking a section of the GED test is $25 and $30 after September. To reschedule your test date you must call the Adult School 24 hours before the test time. There is a $20 rescheduling fee. There are no refunds for no-shows.

The GED testing fee will go up to $155 beginning October 17, 2009

What if you dialed 9-1-1 and it was busy? Or, worse, no one answered at all. The San Luis Coastal Adult School is excited to join together with the City of San Luis Obispo Fire Department in offering the very popular CERT training class. CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team and the purpose of CERT is to assist the general public to be better prepared in the event of a large-scale disaster. CERT is a 20-hour training program that covers such topics as basic disaster preparedness, utility control, firefighting (you actually put out a real fire), hazardous materials, medical skills, search and rescue techniques, information regarding terrorism, and numerous useful skills. CERT has been presented by the SLOFD for over six years and over 500 participants have graduated from the program.
