The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist with mixing and packaging prescriptions, maintaining client records, referring clients to the pharmacist for counseling, assisting with inventory control and purchasing, as well as collecting payment and coordinating billing.

Classroom: 168 hours; Externship: 120 hours

Course fee: $1395 + textbooks. Prices are subject to change.

Adults who have not received a high school diploma are eligible to take the General Educational Development (GED) Test Series. This class is designed to assist students at their own pace in preparing for the five-part exam. Individualized instruction and counseling are provided. Improve your skills in math, reading, essay writing, and grammar.

There are no refunds for no-shows.

What if you dialed 9-1-1 and it was busy? Or, worse, no one answered at all. The San Luis Coastal Adult School is excited to join together with the City of San Luis Obispo Fire Department in offering the very popular CERT training class. CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team and the purpose of CERT is to assist the general public to be better prepared in the event of a large-scale disaster. CERT is a 20-hour training program that covers such topics as basic disaster preparedness, utility control, firefighting (you actually put out a real fire), hazardous materials, medical skills, search and rescue techniques, information regarding terrorism, and numerous useful skills. CERT has been presented by the SLOFD for over six years and over 500 participants have graduated from the program.

All classes will be held at Fire Station Number One, located at 2160 Santa Barbara Street, SLO. It is necessary to pre-register for the class and there is a $40.00 materials fee. For specific information pertaining to this training, contact the CERT Information Line at 781-7399 or log onto:
