of the ‘digital darkroom’! Digital photos can easily be used in a
variety of ways through the use of a computer and image-editing software,
such as Photoshop. Class is well suited to those who are considering
purchasing image-editing software, as well as those who already own or have
access to software. This class expands upon the basic image-editing
techniques from the Using Your Digital Camera & Computer course. Topics
include working with “layers,” multiple-exposures/combining
images, toning black and white photographs, “hand-tinting” black
and white photographs, repairing and retouching photographs, special effects,
selection tools, text tools, and incorporating a scanner into your digital
photography. Explore ways to enhance printed materials and digital documents,
such as flyers and presentations with your digital photos. Adobe Photoshop CS
will be used in the classroom, but many of the techniques taught are
transferable to other image-editing software on the market. Take advantage
of open lab time and the assistance of
the instructor when needed. Students are asked to bring the personal images
